THE SAFE WAY TO TRIGGER HIGH SPEED CAMERAS AND MORE!

An external trigger signal is often the only way to inform an instrument of the correct time to begin recording an event of interest. Many situations make transmission of the trigger signal by cable to the instrument virtually impossible.

The Safe Way to Trigger High Speed Cameras

An external trigger signal is often the only way to inform an instrument of the correct time to begin recording an event of interest. Many situations make transmission of the trigger signal by cable to the instrument virtually impossible.

Manual Triggering

Typically, the PWT™ Transmitter is located close to or with the Operator. The PWT™ Push Button Switch is attached to the Normally Open (NO) connector on the PWT™ Transmitter. The PWT™ Receiver is located at a remote location from the Operator near the instrument and connected to the external trigger input of the instrument. When the Operator pushes the PWT™ Push Button Switch the PWT™ Transmitter sends a coded trigger signal wirelessly to the PWT™ Receiver which relays the trigger signal to the instrument.

Automated Triggering

Typically, the PWT™ Transmitter is located close to the event being recorded. A short trigger line or TTL signal line is connected between the event and the PWT™ Transmitter. The PWT™ Receiver is located at a remote location from the event near the instrument and connected to the external trigger input of the instrument. When the trigger signal is received at the PWT™ Transmitter it sends a coded trigger signal wirelessly to the PWT™ Receiver which relays the trigger signal to the instrument.

Rugged, Portable and Easy to Use

The PWT™ Portable Wireless Trigger is a small and compact and easy to use remote triggering system. This unit has been tested and performs perfectly in a rugged mining environment. The PWT™ Portable Wireless Trigger will allow the camera to be positioned in the best location and angle for the information to be recorded without the worry of positioning an operator next to the camera. This will allow the operator to be positioned up to 500 metres (1640 ft.) away from the camera while still operating the unit as if they are standing right beside it.

Multiple Input and Output Trigger Options

The PWT™ Portable Wireless Trigger has four inputs and outputs available to connect to each transmitter and receiver. The Normally Open Circuit will allow the standard push button trigger, the Normally Closed Circuit will allow a wire to be broken, TTL Falling and Rising allows a proper TTL signal to trigger the unit. Another advantage is the input trigger to the transmitter does not need to be the same as the output trigger from the receiver. This will allow the operator to use any input trigger signal and connect it to a high speed camera which usually requires Normally Open Circuit.

Trigger Multiple Cameras at One Time

One transmitter has the ability to communicate with up to four receivers at a distance of up to 500 metres (1640 ft.). This will give the operator the ability to trigger 4 cameras with a simultaneous trigger point. This will give the operator to capture multiple angles using multiple cameras without the requirement of more people.

SPEZIFIKATIONEN

Frequency Range: 2.4 GHz – this radio frequency is approved for use worldwide. Utilizes Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum technology to provide superior signal reliability.

HÄUFIG GESTELLTE FRAGEN
Allgemeine Informationen

What is the purpose of the PWT™ Portable Wireless Trigger?

The PWT™ is designed to transmit trigger signals wirelessly to instrumentation, enabling precise recording of events without the limitations of physical cables, particularly over long distances or difficult terrain.

What makes the PWT™ system reliable for triggering?

The PWT™ utilizes Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) technology to ensure superior signal reliability, even in challenging environments.

Is the PWT™ suitable for extreme conditions?

Yes, the PWT™ is operational in temperatures from -40°C to +60°C (-40°F to +140°F) and is resistant to snow, rain, dust, and sand.

When is a PWT™ Portable Wireless Trigger required?

A PWT™ Portable Wireless Trigger is required when you cannot trigger the camera directly from its positioned location due to safety distance requirements for personnel, or if you need to trigger the camera automatically.

Einrichtung und Installation

What are the components included in the PWT™ system?

The system includes:

  • Transmitter
  • Folding antenna
  • Push button trigger switch
  • 120 VAC or 230 VAC Battery Charger (as specified by Customer)
  • Adapter for external 6 VDC
  • Receiver
  • Folding antenna
  • 120 VAC or 230 VAC Battery Charger (as specified by Customer)
  • Adapter for external 6 VDC
  • Padded Carry Case
  • 2 professional tripods with ball heads
  • Colour Operations Manual (English or Spanish as specified by Customer)

How do I set up the system for manual triggering?

The PWT™ Transmitter should be located with the operator. Attach the Push Button Trigger Switch to the Normally Open (NO) connector on the Transmitter. The Receiver is positioned near the instrumentation, and is connected to the Trig in of the instrumentation. When the switch is pressed, the trigger signal is sent wirelessly to the Receiver, which relays it to the instrument.

Can the PWT™ system handle automated triggering?

Yes. For automated triggering, place the Transmitter near the event and connect it to a TTL signal source or a make or break trigger line tied into the pattern. The signal received at the Transmitter is sent wirelessly to the Receiver, which relays it to the connected instrumentation.

Betrieb und Verwendung

How does the PWT™ handle long distances and difficult terrain?

The system has a range of up to 500 meters (1640 feet) in line-of-sight conditions, eliminating the need for extensive cabling.

What types of trigger signals are supported?

The system supports:

  • Normally Open (NO)
  • Normally Closed (NC)
  • TTL Falling Edge
  • TTL Rising Edge

How is synchronization ensured between the Transmitter and Receiver?

The PWT™ Receiver is electronically matched with the Transmitter. Up to four Receivers can be linked to one Transmitter.

Fehlersuche

What should I do if the trigger signal is not received?

  • Verify the Transmitter and Receiver are powered on and within range.
